After years of near "radio silence" from Flessie, there have been 10 reported sightings of a large creature in Flathead Lake in the first six months of 2024. All of these signtings come from beach-goers in the Somers/Lakeside area. This is an incredible spike in reports and must be investigated thouroughly, especially with the summer in full swing.

In late July, two senior agents spent a few days interviewing the witnesses they were able to contact as well as examining the area. Please see their findings below. You will be expanding on their research as well as spending some time at the scene.

Goal: Interview 3 locals about stories/rumors/experiences/etc. and visit Flathead Lake (at Somers Parks and/or Volunteer Park) to collect any evidence of Flessie's existence.

Report 1

On 6 June 2024, a 25-year-old, originally from Whitefish but now living out of state, went to visit some friends for a beach day in Somers. Her report is as follows: "Me and [my friends] were stopped at Somers Park for a little while on our way back from Lakeside. They went back to the car to grab sunscreen and I saw this huge fish surface problly [sic] 100 feet out. I thought it was dead but then I realised it was slithering and moving and it was way bigger than I thought initially. Another hump surfaced a couple feet away then it disappeared under the water. I didn't mention it to my firends [sic] because I don't think theyd have believed me!! But I keep thinking about it, I've heard of the flathead lake monster before and i think that might have been it. It was so huge."

A follow-up in-person interview uncovered the following information:

• The creature was black and shiny.
• She saw the creature for approximately 10-15 seconds
• There were about 4 other people on the beach, none swimming and none seemed to notice the creature.
• "I have heard of the flathead lake monster before, but not a lot. I don't know anyone who's ever seen it, and I don't know anything about it really, just that its a big serpent in the lake."
• "I looked [the flathead lake monster] up a few days after just to see what other people have experienced, but I didn't find much actual information. I think the festivities are cute but what I saw freaked me out a lot, I didn't get into the water afterwards. My friends did, but not very deep. I was still really nervous and kept thinking about what might happen to them if it was dangerous. I said I was getting heat exhaustion so we left pretty quick. I didn't know how else to tell them I really wanted to leave, it had been a really great day so far."
• [How would you like us to help?] "I guess I don't know... I'd like to know that it's not dangerous or if it's actually a real thing. Maybe I just saw a big fish and jumped to conclusions. I don't know. It's just scary to think there's something in there, and I hope it's not actually an issue for anyone. There's a lot of kids and people who swim there."
• She was smoking a cigarette, but no other drugs were taken by any members of the group.

Report 2

"Somers Park July 7th, small birthday party for my toddler. We heard a massive splash and saw the end of a tail very very far out on the lake. Huge tail, identical in shape to a trout but no spots from what we could tell. Rest of the tail was very slender and dark."

Email received 8 July 2024.

Witness did not feel comfortable talking to us over the phone or in person, but replied to additional questions in an email:

"I am 32. Tail was black or dark blue. The sighting took place at about 3:20pm. My huband [sic], parents, and sister also saw the creature. The children did not. There were a couple of people loading a boat. I don't know if they saw it but it didn't seeem like it. I have been to Somers park many times and have never seen anything strange except junkies. I am not interested in the supernatural. I did not talk to the police or anyone but my own family. I want you to take care of whatever that was because it should not be in our lake."

Report 3

8 July 2024: "We took off from somers boat launch around 5 pm, headed southeast. Friend was driving the boat, i was in the back with our wives. No wind, not a lot of waves, nice day. We had barely left the boat launch and we slowed down a bunch, enjoying the sun, and after a minute the boat started rocking really bad. We looked out and there were 10 to 13 huge waves, then they stopped. They were coming from one direction, like something huge was moving next to us in the water."

A follow-up phone interview uncovered the following information:

• The waves had been coming from the right side of the boat, the side closest to the west shore.
• Man driving the boat was sober, the other three had consumed 2-3 beers each.
• Witness believes in Bigfoot and ghosts, and believes "those guys should not be messed with. God puts things on this earth that we're not supposed to know everything about and I'm not gonna try to change that. If whatevers in Flathead [Lake] is as big as they say, we should just leave it alone and be careful not to make it mad."

All three other witness were contacted, they were able to back-up his story. No relevant additional details were shared.

Report 4

15 July 2024: "Me and another lady on the docks saw something huge in the water at Volunteer park in Lakeside Montana. It was maybe 30 or 40 feet long and looked like a massive snake but thicker in the middle. It was proabbly [sic] 100 feet out from where we were, and was swimming away from us and to the left slightly."

A brief follow-up phone interview uncovered the following information:

• The creature was black and shiny.
• She saw the creature for approximately 10-15 seconds.
• She did not get the name or contact information of the other witness.
• It was roughly 4pm.
• The witness showed no interest in other types of unsolved mysteries except true crime.

Witness interviewed by Agents 69 and 108 on 27 July 2024.

Additional Findings

• Agent 108 was able to do a sonar sweep on 28 July 2024 of the north portion of the lake but found nothing.
• No evidence was found at the scene, though not much time was spent there.
• Microbial analysis of 11 water samples from around the lake: 8 samples came up with nothing out of the ordinary. 2 samples indicated feces present not belonging to any known wildlife, human, or dog. 1 sample may indicate shark DNA, but was inconclusive.
