Assistant Field Investigator
This is an entry level position.
As a beginning investigator, you will undertake less challenging cases until you get more comfortable. In the beginning, your focus will be familiarizing yourself with cryptids, hauntings, and other phenomena specific to your area. Soon, you will be put on cases with more experienced agents. We will reach out to you directly when we have a case for you.
Our Expectations
- All information related to the organization or any investigations/cases you are assigned is strictly confidential. We are a secret organization. So keep it secret.
- Feel free to openly discuss information regarding the phenomena we research (psi phenomena, cryptids, ufos, etc.). Education can often help people who experience these things. Knowledge is power. Plus it's just interesting to talk about.
- Keep in contact with your advisor as much as necessary.
- Align your actions with our Mission Statement.
Failure to meet expectations are grounds for termination.
Please contact your advisor with any questions.
Orientation Information
About Us
- Our mission statement: The Local Investigators of Cryptic Evidence are committed to the pursuit of knowledge concerning the unexplained and abnormal in order to inform and protect the people of the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
- While we research a wide variety of topics, we specialize in cryptozoology. We do not research true crime, as that is the responsibility of law enforcement and the justice system.
- Your advisor is your number one ally. They are there for any concerns, questions, suggestions, issues, ideas, etc. that you may have. We use an open-door, CYA (Contact Your Advisor) policy. If anything comes up (anything at all), contact your advisor immediately. They will know what to do.
- We have nearly 200 agents across the PNW. Some part-time, some full-time. We appreciate all the time they volunteer, and understand that lives exist outside of your secret organization involvement. We are flexible with scheduling research, training, and investigations. Please CYA if you are experiencing any issues with your schedule or the expectations we have.
- We are one of many organizations stationed across the United States. Our sister organizations take care of phenomena in their own regions. If you wish to access their database, transfer organizations, or contact their agents, CYA.
Your Interests
- If you are interested in a specific topic that is already being investigated, CYA. Many research teams need more members and are happy to catch you up on what they are working on.
- If you have an interest in any topics that you don't see in our database, but think they should be researched, CYA. Chances are, those data pages are confidential, in storage, or don't exist yet. All of our data comes from individuals researching what they're interested in and compiling information into our database. We are always open to suggestions or niche research investigations.
Confidential Information
- If you'd like access to confidential information, CYA.
- Many low and medium level security topics simply require proper training, which we can provide.
- Requests to access confidential information may be denied.
Promotions
- If your advisor believes you are ready to be promoted, it will be discussed with the board, as well as the rest of the advisors. If approved, you will receive an offer for promotion, which you are free to accept or decline.
- A promotion will depend on the extent of your involvement in the organization and your performance. This includes: success of investigations, quality and quantity of research, willingness to do extra training, newsletter contributions, and more.
- If you have interests in administrative work, CYA. Admins moderate our database pages and training modules. They also undertake major research projects. You may help them with projects or decide to train to become an Assistant System Administrator.
Newsletter
- Please contribute to our weekly newsletter. No commitment necessary. If you find something interesting you'd like to share with the rest of the organization, please CYA.
- You may submit your own work, links to articles/videos/other resources, fun facts, quiz questions, photos, or anything you'd like. Submissions are selected by a group of advisors that runs the newsletter.
- The answers to any Pop Quiz can be found in the information we've shared with you. No outside research necessary. We do this to get you familiar with our database when you actually need answers.

Not only do we share many of the same phenomena, but their areas of study are more focused than ours. TICK often reaches out for support on parapsychological investigations and WASP will call us down to take over thier crypid investigations.
