- Exclusive to forested areas
- One was reportedly made into mittens by lumberjack after he shot it near the Humptulips River in Washington. However, they did not allow him to keep hold of anything and they wriggled away when he left them on the road.
Identification:
- Size of a small dog with a velvety coat
- Feet of a woodpecker and a spiked tail
- Adept climbers, crawls similar to in inchworm
- Lives on shelf mushrooms
